Books for Boat Exhibition

I have been making paper boats and boat books for the past few weeks for the BOAT exhibition at Squid Studio in Nowra, NSW. The exhibition opens this Saturday and will run until 3rd July. As you can see, these boats aren’t books, so I will post some of the boat books next time.

The BOAT exhibition includes sculpture (sandstone, ceramic and more), painting (some from private collections which you are unlikely to have seen exhibited before or will again), etching, photography, vispo (visual poetry, as opposed to the read out kind) and short film. More info at:

leaf boats - marama warren

Here are two boats I have made for the BOAT exhibition. I made them using handmade plant papers with paper leaves for sails. The paper leaves are made in the same way as plant papers by boiling the chlorophyll out of the green leaves.
