Letterpress Print shop closed for Pasifika

I have been away from my blog for a few weeks and over that time I have been in Auckland. While I was there I planned to visit the NZ Association of Book Crafts print shop in Motat at Western Springs where they run workshops and make books.

I have been a member of this excellent and dynamic association for the past seven years. The day I went, the print shop was closed due to Pasifika, the biggest Polynesian festival in the world. I took these photographs of the printery from the outside and through the window. I dream about playing in there one day.

I'd love to get my hands on that type!

I wandered happily around Western Springs soaking up the warmth, colour and sounds of  Pasifika. Here are some photographs to give you a taste of what it was like.

Looks like fun Marama :) I’m sure you would have a ball in there too.
