Street art, markets and exhibition ends

Here is an image that appeared in the main street of Milton a few weeks ago, created by talented local artist Julia Collinson (first prize winner in the Shoalhaven Open Art Prize with her work The Cuckold). My image titled Word Bird which was on this blog recently, won First Prize in the Open Section of the Postcard Competition!

Street art in Milton NSW by Julia Collinson

Last weekend, Julia and other members of the Milton Art Market took part in the first artisan market at the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre and Regional Gallery in Nowra NSW. We had a quiet but enjoyable day sitting in the sunshine, which was welcome after the extreme rainfall of the previous two days.
The Artisan’s market will be held on the second Saturday of each month, weather permitting, on the front courtyard of the Arts Centre. Trading hours are 9.00am – 3.00pm.

Flower to Fruit, detail of a waterfall book I made for the TRIO exhibition in Milton using dyed handmade papers, mono prints and digital prints.

On Monday Sharon, Susan and I dismantled our TRIO exhibition at Bunya’s Organics and Antiques in Milton. The show ran for three weeks over the school holidays during Escape ArtFest. We were pleased with the interest the exhibition generated. People travelled from Sydney, Canberra and points between to see (and buy) our work.
Sharon and I will be exhibiting together again in February next year with Milton based ceramicist Vicki Passlow at Strathnairn Homestead Gallery in Canberra.
